The rise of generative AI: nearly half of business leaders see AI as a direct threat

​49% of C-suite executives see AI as a direct threat to their business, according to our UNLOCKED: Tech and the Boardroom report. Nowhere is that concern greater than in the US, where 57% of respondents labelled AI as a direct threat, compared to 49% in the UK, 43% in Germany and 35% in the Netherlands.

But where there’s threat, there’s opportunity. 62% of executives are prioritizing hiring AI experts to capitalize on advancements of AI technology in the business world. How well prepared are businesses to utilize generative AI? How well do they truly understand this technology? And what kind of skills are they finding it most difficult to hire?
