DEI is such an important part of who we are at Investigo. It’s all about how we connect and relate to each other, and to the world around us. In a people business like ours, the way we treat each other is pivotal. That’s why we work hard to weave DEI into everything we do, and our board drives our approach not just through our business, but through our network.
Investigo’s DEI journey has really started to take shape in recent years. Our DEI committee is massively important in ensuring our culture is inclusive to everyone we work with, whether they’re our people, our clients, or our candidates. We want to empower and inspire people, and in doing so, we hope that will create a knock-on effect to everyone they work with, too. We’re so proud that the committee now takes up 10% of our global workforce, because the more people are talking, the more we can teach each other and the more we can change.
Walking the walk and talking the talk
Our mission is: turning the dial both internally and externally.
We’re working hard to become a trusted advisor that helps our clients embrace inclusivity as part of their people strategy. By supporting our people and our customers in identifying the best talent with inclusion in mind, we’re trying to drive long-term change within our markets.
We’ve built our internal and external DEI strategy on three core principles:
Attraction – how we attract and retain talent across Investigo and support our clients with their short-term hiring objectives.
Facilitation – providing a platform where groups can share their experiences and successes.
Evolution – giving people the tools to turn the dial on culture longer term.
A panel approach
We base our approach to DEI on four main pillars, where we aim to positively impact mindsets and beliefs:
Disability and neurodiversity
Gender equality
Investigo Pride
Race and religion
Each pillar is overseen by a dedicated panel and supported by a team of advocates from across the business. Everyone’s welcome to get involved, whether they have a personal connection with that particular area of DEI, or they just want to learn.
In our quarterly committee meetings, we discuss upcoming DEI initiatives, reflect on what we’ve achieved, and talk honestly about what we still have to do. These meetings are a safe space for everyone; a place where they know they belong and will be heard.
Keeping the conversation going
We hold regular roundtables hosted by leading experts in DEI, from both inside and outside the company. These give our people the opportunity to share their experiences and insights. We also publish regular insight reports sharing practical advice to help inspire employers to do better.
We don’t have all the answers, but all we can do is keep communicating, keep learning, and keep getting better every day. If you’d like to find out more about our journey and talk to us about your approach to DEI, please contact our DEI committee. They’d love to hear from you.
